Essential Questions and Creating/Evaluating Authentic Student Products

Participants in this session will hone their Essential Question writing skills and leave with new ideas for Authentic Student Products. Teachers will learn how to create an engaging classroom environment, where students perform inquiry-based research and demonstrate knowledge and skills through authentic products: presentations (PowerPoint, Prezi), audiovisuals (iMovie, Animator, websites), Padlet, and student blogs. This session is designed for Middle and High School teachers.

Liz Ebersole has been a teacher for over 10 years. She is originally from Philadelphia, PA, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Temple University. Liz is a Middle School Teacher and Educational Technology Specialist at Seattle Hebrew Academy. She is also a Master's Degree student in Digital Education Leadership at Seattle Pacific University.
Nance Morris Adler teaches Middle School Jewish Studies as well as Social Studies to 6th grade at The Jewish Day School of Seattle. This is her 11th year at JDS. Nance has used an ActivBoard in her classroom for seven years and also uses iPads for making student films. Nance’s passions in teaching are Theology and the Shoah. She is a USHMM Teacher Fellow and in the SAMIS Technology Initiative.
